Effect of excessive use of agrochemicals on farming practices: Bangladesh perspectives

Agrochemicals are the part and parcel of modern farming practices. The study attempted to explore effects excessive use agrochemicals oin A structured questionnaire face-to-face interview were conducted in collecting data from randomly selected 150 farmers Satkhira sadar upazila under district Bangladesh during November 2022. perceived effect was focus variable whereas socio-economic attributes participants chosen as explanatory variables. overuse assessed employing a 4-point rating scale ranked by calculating index while independent variables measured using appropriate scoring techniques scales. findings revealed that, majority (48.7%) respondents high positive on practices large portion (59.3%) them medium negative effects. It also found most increase productivity cropping intensity (91.8%) worst poisonous human, animal, soil microorganisms (82.7%). results explored that main cause agrochemical is provision higher yield (94.7%) best management practice suggested agricultural training (95.3%). However, usage positively correlated with respondents’ educational qualification, experience, training, extension media contact, knowledge, awareness. So, strategies along sustainable system crucial protect our environment save upcoming generations.
